Hello all Door Creek Residents,
Earlier this year, changes to the neighborhood covenants were approved to allow construction of one outbuilding per lot. A zoning change with the city of Madison was also required and has been completed. Now that these steps have been completed, the ACC has established a process for application and approval of an outbuilding prior to building. Please see below for a synopsis of the procedure:
- 1. Home owner reviews the associate covenants and city zoning change (see http://www.doorcreekhoa.com/pages for both documents) to make sure their proposed plan meets the requirements.
- 2. Complete the outbuilding application and submit your plan to the ACC. See “Door Creek HOA Outbuilding Application” at http://www.doorcreekhoa.com/pages for the form. Plan must include dimensions (w x d x h), color, description of building materials, and planned placement location within the lot. The ACC has 30 days after submission to approve/deny or recommend changes.
- 3. Once the resident has received approval from the ACC, the plan must be submitted to the city of Madison zoning commission as part of applying for a city permit.
- 4. The homeowner must submit the same plan and the written approval to the City. The zoning commission will only grant a permit for a plan that was approved from the ACC.
- 5. After approval by both the ACC and the zoning commission, and receipt of a city permit, the resident may then begin construction of the outbuilding.
- 6. Upon completion of installation, owner is responsible for maintaining the outbuilding in good repair.
Homeowner's must complete all application procedures and receive all approvals prior to beginning any construction.
