RE: Feedback - HOA President's Leadership Forum
An HOA President's Leadership Forum was held on June 16th. The meeting was well attended and the atmosphere was positive. The purpose of the meeting was to share the information regarding the New Town Hall and the concerns regarding prioritization of capital projects within the Town of Parker. A copy of the Towns "Capital Project" presentation given at one of workshops was given to all.
There was a group consensus during the meeting that roads were the number one issue. During the discussions other urgent community needs were identified. The two most urgent needs the HOA Presidents would like to see addressed immediately were issues of safety.
(1) Stop Light at Jordan Road and Cottonwood Drive
(2) Stop Light at Stonehenge and East Mainstreet
Regarding the Town Hall, all the HOA Presidents were open minded and positive. However, everyone felt that more information was needed before a conclusion could be reached. Please provide responses to the following inquiries as soon as possible.
1. Would the Town be willing utilize the approach recently discussed in the "Effective Citizen Involvement" workshop to determine what, when, where, and why a new Town Hall?
2. What is the fundamental justification for determining that a new Town Hall is required?
3. Instead of a Pro/Con approach, can the Town provide cost justification and quantifiable benefits to residents as part of the fundamental justification? Ex: What is the cost justification/quantifiable benefit of "One Stop Shopping" to residents?
4. Does the Town have a Space Planning Policy that addresses amount of required space per resource based on their roles and responsibilities?
5. What are the details regarding the $450,000 Modular Unit alternative?
6. What is the complete long term financial analysis regarding alternative space options versus build?
7. Is there a list of all of the needs of the community with estimated costs? This would include roads, recreation, trails, sidewalks, etc..
The HOA Presidents related they are willing to utilize their newsletters and personal networks to help disseminate information to their communities. A complete up to date list of all of the HOA Presidents will be provided to the Town to facilitate the distribution of responses to the aforementioned urgent needs and inquiries.
