ASIAN GANG
ROBBERY SERIES ALERT

For Southside
Park - Freemont Park Neighborhoods

Another victim of
this series was subjected to a home invasion robbery tonight. The 88 year
old female victim fits the profile of the series reported by Community
Watch since December.

The victim was robbed
by male Asian youth  The robbery took place in the 2100 block of 9th
Street and the victim was forced into her home at knife point  whereupon
robbers ransacked it.

Police looked for
vehicle described as an 1986 "style" white Toyota Pick-up truck.

We continue our growing
concerned for the safety of our older Asian neighbors who seem to be targeted
by this gang. There is grave concern, due to the age of the victims, that
one of these robberies could have tragic consequences.

We would ask
our neighbors in these area to consider special block watches during the
hours these crimes are taking place. If you would like some help organizing
and working with swing shift patrol officers, call Community Watch at 448-4169
or to form a watch group call Tawnya Bump at SPD 566-6418 Extension #3

There is one break
out of this violent act. One of the suspects is described as having a deformed
(short) right arm. For the last several hours officers and detectives have
been following up on this and other leads developed tonight. They are showing
a strong resolve to clear this series.

UPDATE: At
12:40 this morning another series Armed Robbery took place at the AM/PM
at 16th and W Streets. The suspects were armed with a black .45 auto handgun.
These two suspects are described as male black youths 18-20 years, 5'9"
- 5'11" wearing dark slacks and dark blue hooded sweatshirt. The shorter
suspect wore glasses. The suspects were recorded on video tape.

Police are also looking
for an older 4 door white Ford Tempo used in other robberies in the county
tonight and yesterday here.

Please call Detective
Ayers at 566-6401 if you have information about any of the suspects in
these series robberies.
