December's Garden of the Month

Posted in: Lake Eola Heights Historic

Yes, this month's selection really brings out the Christmas spirit in all of us. The new mulch around the freshly planted crotons really does invite caroling. While it should not be confused with the Lighting contest, could the "judge" have made it a point to have at least one poinsettia in the yard? The Garden of the Month contest became a joke months ago but this latest pick borders on the absurd. See what diversity has done? In order not to offend, atheism seems to be the religion of choice. How sad indeed. By the way, which half of the duplex is the winner?

Garden of the Month is independant from any holiday. Just as Easter's choice isn't incumbent on bunnies or eggs nor is October's devils and tombstones.  Garden of the Month is and hopefully will be recognition based on a variety of criterium, design, maintainance, improvement, and uniqueness to name a few. Political correctness has nothing to do with a property owner as in many cases the owner's personal circumstances is not known.  Participation is the best way to make an impact on the process.
