New to Neighborhood Association

I think it's a good idea to keep the neigborhood association going. I actually have never been part of a neighborhood association before so I don't really know how things work, but I think it is important for our neighborhood to keep in touch and keep up an association. I think the August newsletter was a good idea. I don't know the last time we had a newsletter. It had some good information in it. You mentioned dues . . . is there a certain date when dues are due? And is there any penalty to those who decide that they don't want to pay? Do we just pay our dues to the treasurer? Another thing I read on the newsletter was that dues are for gravel and dirt- is that to use for anything? And how do we get it? Well, I know I had several questions, but like I said, I am new to the whole neighborhood association. I would like to thank the board members for keeping things going, even when there doesn't seem to be much interest. Hopefully, others will see the importance of having an active neighborhood association.

Hello,

The dues for this SCPNA is very reasonable, I have heard where some Associations charge a lot more than we do and I am talking in the HUNDREDS of dollars. The beginning of the year is a good time to pay your dues because they are paid for the entire year. We usually start hitting door to door around the fall, so we have the funds to have the alleys plowed all winter. You can pay your dues to any board member or mal them to Kay Hill (President) her address is in the newsletter. Penalty ... the only penalty for not paying is you do not get any of the benefits.... like the Christmas contest coming up, if you decorated you do not have a chance of winning. When we have dirt and pea gravel you would not be able to get any, and it is free for the paid dues member for as much dirt/pea gravel as you want. When we have the dirt and pea gravel day we have it brought to a specfic location and we announce where, you bring whatever you can (wheel barrow, truck) to haul it to where you want it to go. If you have any other questions please feel free to call any of the board members.

Thank You
