ECNA Areas Requiring Improvement

Please list and describe the areas you feel neighborhood improvements should be made in your block and in the East Central Neighborhood Area period?

** ----------------------------- **
Please Note:

The ECNA is ''in the early stages of the planning process for the redevelopment of our neighborhood. We are currently working with the Memorial Park Neighborhood Association on the development of a plan that involves both of our neighborhoods. We are looking for creative ideas and people who are willing to give something back to the ECNA community.''

Any input you can provide is needed and vital to the development of the ECNA's overall neighborhood redevelopment plan.

My ECNA Repair Areas List

My ECNA Repair Areas List

The two ECNA areas closest to my block and urgently needing improvement and repairs are:

1. Winter St. - Between Hayden St., on the North & Simon St( to RR)on the South

- This area needs sidewalks and curbs really bad. Also City should consider widening Winter St because of heavy car, truck and semi traffic. Big semi traffic on narrow streets will destroy even ''new'' curbing and sidewalks.

This was the case in the past. The 3 shift a day, very, very heavy old Winter St GE Plant truck & semi tractor traffic totally destroyed the area's sidewalks and curbs over many decades in the past. That damage remains to this day ... and just gets worse day by day, winter by winter.

- Also well designed semi, tractor-trailer staging area(s) would help in several ways. a. Protect the new and improved curbs & sidewalks. b. Make staging, loading and unloading semis and tow trucks SAFER, easier and more efficient for delivery, transport & towing companies, truck drivers, vendors & sales people, ECNA businesses located on Winter St and local & out of town commercial and residential traffic driving in and out of the area daily.

-----------------

2. Hayden St. Alley NORTH - running East& West and located between 1200 and 1500 blocks of Hayden St.

- This alley is very crooked. It's decades old, cinder, ''with: broken glass and rusty nails'' surface is very, very dusty and uneven.

- This alley should be straightened, graded and paved with concrete (preferably) or asphalt (much less desirable ... but still would be a great improvement).
