People don?’t like to make New Year?’s resolutions because they are committing themselves to do something for a year. But, this year, make a resolution and commit to keep it. The resolution is to pay more attention to the older generation. A visit, a phone call, or a card every month. Maybe there is a family member, friend, former co-worker, or neighbor who has reached that age where they are living alone and would appreciate hearing from you. It only takes a card, an envelope, and a 37 cent stamp. You are probably thinking ?“:What about e-mail??” Computers are not part of their generation and besides isn?’t it nice to find something nice in the mailbox?
The East Columbus Civic Association (ECCA) paid attention to the older generation by passing out 26 Christmas baskets . Peace Lutheran of Gahanna, Mecurio?’s Fruit Company, and the ECCA donated the baskets. They were distributed by Willie Mae Smith an ECCA officer.
