Home Break In

Posted in: Summerhill
Hello Neighbors,

I do not know if you are aware, but 259 Georgia Avenue (the house for sale) was broken into Saturday morning around 11:30am. No one was at home. The robbers broke into a window in the back and took electronic equipment and a loaded gun. Police came to the scene, but I do not know if the robbers were arrested. I also do not know if she had an alarm. I did not hear one, but I don't know how else the police would have known there was someone in the house.

Attempted Home Break In

Hey Neighbors, FYI&some guys tried to break into my house yesterday evening at about 6pm (Sunday Nov 5th) while I was at home. They 1st rang the doorbell twice. I made no attempt to answer the door since I wasnt expecting anyone. I looked out of a window and didnt see any cars or people, so I went back to watching the game. About 5-10 minutes later, there was a loud pounding on the front door so I got up and then came the prying. It appears that they attempted to pry the front door open right around the deadbolt area with a crow bar or something similar. I guess the noise from me moving and me moving the blinds by the front door frightened them away. I think it was four of them: one on the porch and the others scattered about on the sidewalks in front of my house and across the street. I called APD and they came, but since I didnt get a good look, it wasnt much that they could do. No major damage was done to the property&my nerves were just destroyed! Anyway, I just wanted to give you a heads up! Be aware, be safe, and make sure you exercise all security precautions at all times away and while youre in your homes. Feel free to spread the word, as I dont have very many email addresses of folks in Summerhill.

Take Care, Portia

Attempted Home Break In (NOV 7)

I need to let you know that last night at around 11:30 p.m., someone started knocking on my door and ringing the bell. When I asked who it was, he said his name was Herman and he needed some money. I told him if he didn't get away from my door I was going to call the police. After he left, I called the police to report the incident. I think he was knocking on doors to see who was home. I also asked them to send a car around just to make sure he wasn't doing this to other people.
