AUTO THEFT RALLY
In pursuit of helping educate folks about auto theft, we are hosting an Auto Theft Rally, Saturday, Feb 12th at 10:00am in the park where 7th Ave meets with 66th St.
Officer Harris, a specialist with the St Pete Police Department will be there to provide information and answer questions. He will also be giving away (free) ?“clubs?” for certain high risk cars. Here are the cars that qualify for free clubs:

*Dodge/Chrysler Products
(Any year)
*Saturn 1991-1996
*Nissan Altima 1991-1997 *Toyota Camry 1988-1999 *Honda Accord 1990-1999 *General Motors late 1980?’s to
1998
*Ford - Taurus, Pick-ups,
Explorers, (Any Year).

To get a free club you must bring you driver?’s license and the registration for the car.

In last month?’s newsletter there was a rather impassioned plea for people from the neighborhood to volunteer to help with a pro-active crime watch program. It said: ?“We need people who are willing to help?…maybe being part of a ?“phone tree?” or being a ?“block captain?” or some other activity or duty. Here?’s your chance to take some pro-active steps to help keep the neighborhood safer.?”

No one called, no one e-mailed. This is actually good news as it indicates that this problem is not as serious as we thought it was. While there have been some isolated car thefts, it appears not to affect the neighborhood as a whole. Disagree? Come to the rally.
