In Gulfport & Largo, you can now file a complaint on-line about an auto that is violating the noise ordinence. You have to provide location of incident, time, date, description of vehicle, and tag number---upon receipt of complaint a letter is generated to the owner of the vehicle. Of course, the cops can't issue a citation --$91--unless they witness the event. But, enough complaints and the cops will pay the owner a visit & discuss the complaints received. The current acceptable distance for volume is 25 feet from the vehicle.
