LOCK YOUR VEHICLES AND REMOVE VALUABLES FROM SIGHT. The following incident happened today. A vehicle was burglarized in Grid 18 also right before this incident took place:
5 males where riding bikes & walking through the Floriland area about 5 a.m., when one of the victims saw the males entering UNLOCKED vehicles. Police were there within minutes and the youth fled in every direction. 2 of them were captured and the others got away. However, Det’s have all of their names J 3 bicycles were kept by police and kept for evidence. Tell citizens to lock their vehicle doors & do not leave valuables inside….these youth were walking & biking the neighborhood at 5 in the morning – obviously up to no goodYou will not believe this, but they are from all over. They were on a early morning auto burglary spree which actually began in the area of Waters Ave & N. Blvd. Worked their way around the city. There are many victims, but now we have captured 4 out of the 5. According to the most recent info I can access, there is one juvenile & one adult. More info will most likely become available as more supplements are added to the report. Big lesson here, lock your doors & don’t store GPS’s in gloveboxes or consoles. There were a lot of radio face plates stolen too. There must be a better way to secure those. Det. Cooks said ALL of the cars that were entered were unlocked!
