Early Settlement Mediation - City of Norman

Our Street

Posted in: Woodlake Estates
Weymouth Way has been on the City Streets Department's list for replacement during FY2007 for two years, and has now begun the process. According to the Streets Superintendant and on-site supervisors, the process is three-fold: 1. For a couple of weeks (weather permitting), the badly deteriorated areas will be dug out and re-filled with aggregate and asphalt; 2. An outside contractor will then (during May) perform a milling process of the entire street, down a couple of inches to allow for re-surfacing, and 3. The street will be completely re-paved and sealed to look and feel like a brand new street. Needless to say, there will be periods of inconvenience for all, and we will have to work together to alleviate any problems which may arise. For those who park on the street, you will find notices posted on your cars when it becomes a hinderance to their progress.

What up dawg?

Any progress on our street(s) has been halted by...what...the weather? Presumably the city and outside contractors charged with milling and re-paving have been busy with considerable emergency repairs around the area, to the extent that we are on hold UFN. Any concerns should be brought to the City Streets Dept. or you can call the Board for the latest information on what is known at this point.

substandard street

I spoke with the city's street department supervisor about 3 week ago. Weymouth Way is still on the agenda to finish the repair; however, because of the problems caused by flooding last month many other streets were placed ahead of Weymouth Way. Too bad the street wasn't constructed properly!

Weymouth still on the slate

According to the Streets Superintendant, Weymouth repairs are already budgeted and expected to be completed sometime in late March or early April, 2008. Notice will be given to all street-parked vehicles before the road surface is milled down and re-paved. Thanks for trying to park in your driveway or garage.
