Thailand Winter 2007 Trip Orientation Meeting

A moderately priced dinner gives you the chance to meet other volunteers, learn more about the project, talk with past volunteers, and more. This is a great opportunity to gain cross-cultural international experience and build your resume. Volunteers are needed for the 3rd Annual Rural Environmental Education Enhancement Pilot Project (REEEPP) with Ban Na Fa Elementary School in northern Thailand (Nan Province). REEEPP is an innovative community-based environmental education program to improve rural Thai public elementary education by integrating math, environmental science, geography, English, and technology using interactive outdoor lessons. During the school project, volunteers experience home stays in a rural Thai village. After the project, volunteers will visit the ancient capitals of Sukhothai and Ayutthaya, the Grand Palace (in Bangkok, the present capital), and visit an alternative biofuels demonstration farm in Rayong Province before returning to LA. Estimated cost $2000-$2500 (pending final air ticketing).
