Hello Friends and Neighbors!
Here are a few things to update you for Edgemoor Gardens:
1. Community Watch - National Night Out is on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Woodshaven Park.
Neighbors, please keep a look out for any suspicious activity or persons and report them to police. Keeping our neighborhood safe will benefit all of us.
2. Open spaces - We are lucky to have so much open area in our neighborhood.
Please do not allow dumping in these open spaces. That is dangerous and unhealthy. And, the Civic Association must dispose of those items using money donated by you. We should be using that money to have the ownership of the open spaces transferred from the defunct companies who own it to EGCA so we can make the spaces usable play areas. If you see dumping, or know who has been dumping, please call the police non-emergency number or County Complaints.
3. Resource House - The Edgemoor Resource House is located at 41 S. Cannon Drive in Edgemoor.
Please stop by to see the progress Edgemoor Revitalization Cooperative (ERC) has made and the programs being offered. The Executive Director is Cheri Whitney. She can be reached at (302) 293-3944 if you have questions.
4. The Civic Association is interested in enlarging its board and hopes that others are interested too.
Please contact us at sboyeredgemoor@aol.com if you are or if you have questions. We will also need your assistance from time to time with events and projects. Check back here for updates.
5. The sewer project schedule for Edgemoor Gardens is in the advertising stage preparing for bids from qualified contractors.
It is anticipated that the actual work will begin in March 2012. Also, the part of the project that goes through Woods Edge is being handled separately due to easement issues. - For those that asked, South Cannon is not scheduled for re-paving until the sewer project is completed.
Thank you all for your help and support. I look forward to hearing from you or seeing next month at our monthly meeting. Please watch for the event announcement with the date, time, and place.
