Hello Edgewater residents:
We want to bring you up to date on the following items:
Speed Humps: Bob Forsyth, Gary Billick and I met with Councilman Wolff in January to discuss speed hump installation on Cadillac Drive, Noise Abatement and an increase police patrols for our area. Councilman Wolff listened to our concerns but Cadillac Drive speed hump installation funding was previously authorized. When we began this process we requested Edgewater Homeowners be included in the petition for speed humps, the city determined that we are not in the corridor and therefore have no say in the installation of Cadillac Drive speed humps. Bob, Gary and I this week went to Cadillac Drive?’s Homeowners meeting to discuss the installation of speed humps. The majority of homeowners attending perceived Edgewater Homeowners as the problem. They were not open to the discussion of alternative solutions. If you would like further information on this topic, please contact Bob, Gary or me.
Water Rights: Last month Bob and I met with SAWS to discuss our water right options. Edgewater HOA owns 60-acre feet of water rights; this water keeps our ponds at a constant level. In the past, we have not used all our water rights. We contacted SAWS to determine their interest in a one-time leasing of those excess water rights. Our meeting with SAWS determined this was not practical. We are exploring retrofitting the pumps to water the common area.
Common Area: January, M&A Landscaping took over the common area lawn and tree maintenance from Brookway. We also extended our contract with J&G services. They keep the common area clean and empty the trashcans. In addition, they will power wash the gazebos twice a year. If you have comments on the performance of these vendors, please call the management company at 210.523.1320.
Pond Pumps: The pond pumps continue to have issues. We have ordered a new aerator for the lower pond?’s faulty aerator. The upper pond?’s bubbling brook pump separated from the PVC pipe and is scheduled for repair this weekend.
Uninvited Guests: We have had received complaints regarding uninvited guests using the common area. If you see someone in the common area or solicitors in the neighborhood, please ask them to leave, call the police, or contact Bob Forsyth or me.
Thank you for your continued interest and have a super weekend!
