Pool Management Company

American Pool Service 301-595-3800

The lifeguards are in charge of enforcing the rules of the pool and ensuring the safety of the pool members. Their decisions always stand!!!!!! If you have any complaints, please speak with the pool manager or one of the members of the Pool Committee. As a last resort, you may call American Pool Service (phone numbers will be posted on the bulletin boards). If you only speak to the guard, we have no way of tracking problems to ensure that we don’t have a recurring issue.

Important Pool Rules

1. No running or horseplay inside the pool area. Anyone who violates this rule may be subject to removal from the pool area at the discretion of the lifeguards.

3. Food and/or drinks (other than water) are only allowed outside of the pool fence area or in the grassy picnic area.

4. No smoking allowed within the pool fence area or the parking lot.

5. Kids under 8 years old must be accompanied inside the pool area by an adult or an “over 16” responsible sibling/friend.

6. Kids who cannot stand in the shallow corner (near steps) by themselves must be accompanied in the water by an adult or “over 12” responsible sibling/friend.

7. No floats, rafts, or innertubes are allowed in the pool. Vest or arm floats are allowed, as long as the child is accompanied by an older person in the water who remains within an arm’s length of the child.

8. Kids swimming or diving in the diving area must be able to swim a full lap of the pool without stopping and/or tread water for one minute (subject to lifeguard test).

9. We will almost always have two lanes roped off at the far end of the pool. These lanes are reserved for lap swimmers.

10. No diving head-first into the pool at any times.

11. No chairs or lounge chairs should be placed near the edges of pool to allow for emergency access by guards.

12. Per County regulations, there will be a 15 minute adult swim each hour starting on the hour. Kids under 16 years old must leave the water. Kids are allowed to sit on the top step of the shallow end or sitting on one of the sides with feet in the water, until the guard blows the whistle, to end the adult swim time.

13. We have a tub of toys for use in the baby pool. Parents should return the toys to the tub after use by their child before leaving the baby pool area.

14. No one is allowed in the office or behind the front desk.

15. All cars should be parked side-by-side in the parking lot facing the pool area to allow for more parking and to avoid any accidents from those backing up. Please always leave the space in front of the door open for handicapped access.

16. Family names who have paid their membership dues are posted at the front desk. You should sign in when you arrive, and allow the guard (if one is at the desk) to check your name against the list. We do not have membership cards.

17. Unlimited guests are allowed at Eldwick, as long as they DO NOT live within the boundaries of Falls and Glen Roads. We do not allow neighborhood kids to come as guests of member families. If your neighbors’ kids want to come to Eldwick with their friends, their family should join our pool. We do not maintain a guard staff to closely monitor this guest rule, so please be considerate of other members who are financially supporting the pool operation.

18. The entire pool area must be cleared and the pool will be closed for a minimum of 30 minutes after any thunder. A waiting period of 60 minutes will apply to lightening.

19. The pool is available for rent for parties either during open hours or before or after hours (school, birthday, office parties, etc.). Please call Mimi Ridge (301-299-2611) for information.

20. Membership in the Eldwick Swim Club also entitles you to a tennis court key. Call Barton Groh or Mark Rehert if you would like a key.

21. Neighborhood pools only work with a lot of community involvement. If you have a complaint or a suggestion, please call a member of the Pool Committee, and be prepared to address your complaint or implement your suggestion.

HAVE FUN WHILE YOU’RE AT ELDWICK !!!
