Valley Elderberry Longhorn bettl

Posted in: Butterfield Riviera East
People might be interested in what this little bug is all about. I found a good site to help you if you are out looking for him (or her): http://kaweahoaks.com/html/beetles.html
Evidently, there are too few of them and maybe too many of us.
Excellent Information Source

Thanks to James for finding and providing an address to a web site that makes available information on the Valley Elderberry Longhorn Beetle, including its habitat, the Elderberry Bush. This bush is found in our area of the American Parkway and will be impacted by the coming levee project. As can be found on the referenced web site, the Beetle is classified as a threatened species by the Feds, and therefore requires protection. Levee project planning must take into account this requirement.
