Spring Appliance Recycling Reminder -- Sch in March for April

The City of Vancouver provides annual free appliance curbside pickup. In our neighborhood they do the collection by appointment in April. Starting March 1, 2004, the accept reservations for this free service until available slots are filled. For details call the City of Vancouver solid waste staff at 360-696-8186. There are other special events, such as collection sites for styrofoam (recycle code 6 only). You can also get free recycling of computers at the CREAM program (see link). You should see announcements posted at the library, the city's web page and the annual recycling newspaper the city publishes.

Be sure to click on More under the Community Hotlinks Section. You will find links added, such as for the U. S. Census consolidated data for Clark County. Some pages may even move from their usual listing location as new links are added.

2004 Cleanup cancelled & Next General Meeting

The 2004 Cleanup scheduled for the 1st Saturday in October has been cancelled because the city did not provide liability coverage for the event. (Our treasury is only half the size of insurance for a single event.)

Check the community calendar on the home page for the date, time and location of the next general meeting. Typically, the meetings are scheduled at most a few weeks in advance and we often have no more than two per year. The latest scheduled general meeting is Nov. 17, 2004 at 7 pm at the Ellsworth Elementary School Media Center.
