Participate in UC Berkeley's The Berkeley Project Nov. 15

Oct 10, 2008

Elmwood Merchant Association,

My name is Han, and I am part of the Outreach Committee from The Berkeley Project at UC Berkeley.

I am writing because we are having our annual Berkeley Project Day on November 15th. The Berkeley Project is a yearly event where thousands from the Cal campus unite on one day to fulfill the pressing needs of the community through a variety of service projects in and around the City of Berkeley. Last year, 1500 Berkeley students volunteered for our full day of community service. This year, we're trying to reach out to community members as opposed to just UC Berkeley students.

The purpose of the Berkeley Project is to build a legacy of service and a strong, sustainable partnership between the students of Cal and the city and residents of Berkeley. We encourage families, groups, and individuals, as this is also a great bonding activity in the community. I want to emphasize that the success of the Berkeley Project depends on strong, individual groups like yours uniting to serve the community that sustains us.

Should you be interested in volunteering or know of any others that would be interested, please e-mail me and I will let you know of the next steps. Or, you can also email me to find out more about the Berkeley Project.

Thank you for your time and consideration and I hope to hear from you soon.

Best,
Han Givens
