Attempted Robbery in Emerald Mountain

On January 15 the Elmore County Sheriff reported an attempted robbery in Emerald Mountain. Unknown individuals in a car tried to flag down another vehicle on Emerald Mountain Parkway.The driver grew suspicious and pulled away.Shortly thereafter suspects blocked the road at the intersection of Mitchell Creek and Old Ware Road (down from the Fire Station) and, when the driver stopped, she was robbed. It is not known at this time if the suspects have been caught.
We are notifying you of this crime not to say that Emerald Mountain has been identified as a target for theft, but because we felt it important that you remain alert.The Sheriff?’s office suggests that you not stop for any vehicle unless it is identified as law enforcement. It might be wise to pass this along to friends and family living elsewhere so that they too are aware of this criminal tactic.

Emerald Mountain HOA continues to work for a safe neighborhood environment.We have installed security cameras in one location.For this year?’s budget we are expanding and upgrading the camera coverage and continue funding additional patrols in our neighborhood by the Elmore County Sheriffs Department.
