I had a neighbor last Saturaday that decided mowing their yard at 730 am would be a good idea. Neither one of us have privacy fences up to block out the sound. I have a young infant whose room faces their property and can sometimes be really difficult to get to sleep. I also have a husband that works nights. This combined with the fact it was Saturday at 730 did not sit well with us and at 730 am the grass is still wet from the morning dew. Is there anything in our by-laws that dictates when a resident can mow?

Be glad your neighbor mows their grass.  We have a neighbor who hasn't mowed his grass in at least three weeks.  The grass in the backyard is a breeding ground for mosquitos, it's at least 12 inches tall and the grass in the front, if that is what you want to call it, has more weeds in it, than the hippies had at Woodstock.  One of the weeds is up to the middle of my shin.  Who is supposed to be monitoring this stuff and fining these people? 

I've discovered that you have to take upon yourself to report them to the Board President who will immediately get on it.  If it as a vacant house I call the Mayor's Action Center---327-4MAC.

Ladygee, we had reported it to the president of the board and we were basically brushed off like it was no big deal.  I mean who doesn't want a mosquito sespool next door to them when 4 of the 5 houses that butt up to the backyard have children in the home.  Thanks for the Mayor's Action Center number, and we have used that, but I feel that we pay money to have a homeowner's association but what for?  For a pool?  I could live without the pool and save my $250/yr for things that I would actually use.
