October 2011 Annual Meeting Minutes

ANNUAL MEETING  OF

ESTATE LAW COLINA NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

OCTOBER 22, 2011

 

            President, Lynn Danielewicz., called the annual meeting to order and thanked Gary and BJ Graham for organizing the event.  Lynn then asked all neighbors to introduce themselves by stating their name, address and the length of time they had resided in Estate La Colina.

 

            SPECIAL GUESTS:

 

1. Steve and Julie Bahr, real estate agents who have sold homes within the neighborhood for many years, were introduced.  Steve Bahr informed the neighbors about foreclosures and short sales in our area and how they affect our neighborhood.

 

1. A representative from the City of Tempe Police Department Property Crimes Unit was introduced and answered questions from the neighbors regarding safety in our neighborhood. 

 

1. A representative from Truly Nolan then spoke on prevention, detection and treatment of termites in our homes.

 

1. Representatives from City of Tempe.

 

1. Representatives from City of Tempe Recycle Program answered neighbors’ questions on recycling and handed out recycling bags and baskets.

 

CITY OF TEMPE GRANT: 

 

Lynn informed the neighbors that ELC had been awarded a Grant  for 2010-2011 to install a new drinking fountain in Estrada Park. Lynn expects the work to be completed within the next 6 months. These Grants help our neighborhood  stay competitive since we are not a HOA and do not pay monthly maintenance dues. 

 

Discussion was then held amongst the neighbors regarding recommendations for the Grant application for 2011-2012, which will be the last year for the Grant Program.

            Upon motion duly made and seconded, the following persons were elected as officers for  2012:

            There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
