President's Report

May 11, 2000

GREETINGS NEIGHBORS!

I guess you could say we seem to be well into Spring although I think Winter passed without notice. In our 18 years here I have never seen such a mild season. Let?’s hope that is not a sign of a real hot summer. I think I prefer a bit of winter.

Your new Board of Directors is in place and includes myself as President, Tom Pearlman as Vice President, Tom May as Treasurer, Bob Brown as Secretary, Ed Pickrel in charge of Maintenance, Maxine Brecht in charge of Community Relations and Elva Brown in charge of Security.

I am sorry so many of you were unable to attend our last meeting. We had an excellent presentation on city and county animal codes. We will try to give you a short synopsis of this later in the newsletter. Please try harder to attend our meetings so you don?’t miss anything.

Our next meeting will be held on April 6, 2000, at 7:00 p.m. at the Woodlake Country Club. Our speaker will be Mr. Sisto Flores, assistant manager of the Recruiting Division of the Bureau of Census. He will be discussing the importance of filling out the census. This will be a great Civics class for all who choose to attend. Many people are unaware of how the census affects their everyday lives from determining how many Congressmen we have representing us to how much in federal and state dollars are brought back to our community. Please try to attend and spend an hour or so with your neighbors.

I hope to see you at the club on April 6th at 7:00 p.m.

Nancy
