Building in Evergreen Meadows has slowed somewhat, but continues to be strong. Thank you to everyone who submitted plans to the Architectural Review Board (ARB). Remember that the review process takes time. One should allow 2 weeks or more for plans to be reviewed. Also, if construction, or exterior structural or color change of any kind is begun prior to the ARB review, you are risking the possibility of your project not passing. The ARB strongly discourages building before approval has been obtained by the ARB, as well as the Jefferson County Building Department (303-271-8260).
This is a list of projects approved in August and September 2000
Detached Garage 8485 Armadillo Trail
Fence 27942 Man-O-War Trail
Deck 7814 Armadillo Trail
House Addition 27781 Man-O-War Trail
Shed 28954 Needles Trail
When planning your project, please note that front, rear and side setbacks required in Evergreen Meadows by Jefferson County are 50 feet. If you build within a setback you must first get a variance from Jefferson County Planning & Zoning (303-271-8700). An exception to this would be a small shed, which is less then 120 Sq.Ft in size and less then 10 Ft. in height. These can be erected within the setback on the side or rear of the property, but not in the front.
Housing color must also be approved by the ARB, so if you are changing the present color of a building on your property, please consult ARB first. As stated in the Architectural Guidelines "exterior finishes shall be in subdued and/or forest tones, although brighter accents, used judiciously, may be permitted". Buildings on your property should match in color, so if you are getting a shed, you will want to paint or stain it to match your house. All fencing for enclosures must also be reviewed by ARB.
The Architectural Review Board is here to serve the neighborhood with the review process. The Architectural Guidelines of Evergreen Meadows were put in place to help maintain property values in the neighborhood. If you need a copy of these guidelines or a copy of the Evergreen Meadows Covenant, please call me at 303-674-5614.
