Evergreen Meadows Homeowners Association

Covenant Corner

Mar 27, 2000

Please take the time to review the covenants of Evergreen Meadows Homeowners. Compliance is appreciated by all your neighbors and help to make our neighborhood what it is - a great place to live. The strong winds we have already experienced this winter and the anticipated windy days to come make the following covenants worth review.

#12 Subject - Signs -- No signs of any kind shall be displayed to the public view on any part of the property, except one sign of not more than two square feet designating the owner of any site and one sign of not more than five square feet advertising the property for sale or rent. Permitted signs shall be maintained in a clean, sightly and kept condition. This covenant shall not exclude the posting of No Trespassing signs, provided that any such No Trespassing signs shall not exceed two square feet in size. Temporary signs may be placed 48 hours before an event and must be removed within 24 hours of completion of advertised event.

#19 Subject - Garbage Containers -- Each property owner shall provide a rigid, self-standing receptacle with a latching cover for the temporary storage and collection of refuse, and all such receptacles shall be screened from public view except on collection day.

Garbage containers should not be left at the end of your pickup day to blow around.

Dogs continue to be the source of complaints from neighbors when they are allowed to run off leashed or bark continuously at night. PLEASE comply with the covenants and keep your dog on a leash when off your property. Jefferson County Animal Control will be contacted to assist with those dogs that seem to be a constant nuisance and the source of complaints from neighbors.

Only a few people continue to violate these covenants, and in fairness to the majority of homeowners the Covenants Committee will continue to expect compliance from everyone. THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE EVERGREEN MEADOWS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION STAT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS CAN LEVY A FINE OF $25 PER DAY, UP TO A MAXIMUM OF $500 PER MONTH FOR CONTINUED NON-COMPLIANCE OF THESE COVENANTS.

Need a copy of the EMHA Covenants or Architectural Review Guidelines?
Call our secretary, Kattia Zodrow or the appropriate committee chairperson (phone numbers are listed on page 2 of this newsletter). Or better yet, attend a regularly scheduled Board meeting on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Conference Baptist Church Annex on Hwy. 73 & North Turkey Creek.
