Leftovers from Sale

Posted in: Farley
Just a reminder that there are many charities in Indianapolis that can use your unsold garage sale items. The Animal Shelter or Humane Society can use your old (clean) blankets, towels, and sheets (ph# 327-1397). The Sharing Place (3976 Georgetown Rd., ph# 298-3180) will take clothes, household items, and jewelry to re-sell; proceeds help family-oriented programs provided by the Lutheran church. There are many other non-profits that are in tight financial situations this year that can use used office equipment such as computers, printers, desks, etc. I know it's not as convenient to take your items to these organizations as it is to call the DAV or the Lions to pick up. Just wanted to point out some smaller, less-known places that could use your gifts as well. Most donations to these groups should be tax deductible. Thanks and good luck at your sales!!

Leftovers from Garage Sale

Michelle:

Thanks for the reminder about various charities in need of donations. We all need to remember these excellent charitable groups ALL YEAR and donate items when possible.

By way of explanation for our note on the garage sale flyer, long time Farley residents Don and Elaine Griffith are long time active members of the Lions Club on Rockville Road and have provided a pick up service to Farley Residents immediately after the sale dates (Saturday)for several years.

We did not intend to ignore other charities and certainly DO encourage our residents to follow your excellent advice.

Thanks for reminding us all!
