Was there anything I missed for the Yard Sale?

I would love to know who you are J.B.  Care to elaborate?

I missed the fact that without any help from anyone, no matter how much I asked for help, I can not do this alone, so next year someone elst better step up because I am not chairing this combined yard sale again.  Because of the lack of participation, so many families said they would do something, yet we had 8 homes this year, as opposed to the 20 last year, screw this.  I will no longer work this hard for people that won't help.  YES I AM A PUTZ!  But the sad thing is that no one reads this so I am actually just typing to myself, because people lie about reading this and going to this Web site.  I guess I really do care or I wouldn't even do this.  Good bye!

I'm reading this.  I actually bought a few items from you at the yard sale, but I knew nothing about the yard sale beforehand.  I was there primarily to snap pics of homes for sale in Morningside.

Dear Ken,

Yes, I remember you at the yard sale, thank you for being there and I hope that the pictures you took came out O.K. As for you not knowing, about the sale, it was listed on about 15 online yard sale web sites and Craig's list. My first customer saw the listing on C.L. which only proves that the others I listed on are worthless, or that when I asked that we pay for the listings in the news papers, that next year Someone should do just that, I’m not going to be involved next year. One of my neighbors helped me put up paper Sale signs on about 120 poles in the area. I did distribute nice printed posters and sent along electronic pix of same so “the word of mouth” could be spread via e-mail, maybe if I made them with hot peppers, they might have moved faster, ha!

Well, I stumbled upon the yard sale as I was not looking for a yard sale.

My suggestion is stick with the combined yard sale.  Don't give up.  Getting a neighborhood to band together during the best of times is difficult enough, but during this lousy economy it is even harder to get everyone on the same page.

I'm still looking for a house in Gary, but my search is not limited to the Morningside district.  I like older homes with character though and Morningside meets that criteria and many of my personal needs.  The problem is decreasing home values (nationwide).  Why buy a home today when it may be worth 25 percent less tomorrow?  Also, the mortgages are harder to get now.  Good credit and a job are not good enough anymore.
