If you are facing an emergency due to lack of day care, Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery can help. It has free emergency day care available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at its south Minneapolis site to help Hennepin County families. Our free emergency day care provides:
*free service for five days in a row
*experienced, trained staff
*5:1 ratio of teachers to children; 4:1 ratio for infants and toddlers
*clean, fun playrooms and activities
*breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
*located next to Head Start in south Minneapolis
*available for children infant-age six
*open 11 hours a day, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
If you are under stress and having problems coping with your current situation and if a break will make a difference in resolving your crisis, we can help. When you call Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, YOU define your emergency. Examples include:
*the need for care for your children while you look for housing
*the need to go on job interviews and you lack day care
*the need for care for your children because of a court appearance
*the need for day care because you have MFIP appointments
*the need for a safe place for your children because of a domestic situation
*the need to talk to someone, knowing that they will help you in whatever way possible
