Did anyone other then myself read the Letter to the Editor in Friday, May 12, 2000 East Valley Tribune???
It was written by Warren R. Love, a resident of Gilbert. In the letter Warren outlines what SRP is not telling us about the planned (and already approved by the town of Gilbert) expansion of the San Tan Power generating station, almost in our back yards. Besides the 3, 250 foot + smokestacks spewing 240-300 tons of pollutants, (that is TEN times the pollutants it now produces) The residents of Western Skies can expect LOWERED property values. THEMS FIGHTIN WORDS, PARTNER! We need to get some group meetings going with surrounding developments to fight this proposed expansion. Tempe fought SRP and got them to back down on their proposed expansion of the Kyrene generating Station, also in a residential area.
Remember with de-regulation of electricity SRP will be selling this power out of our area on the grid.
All the while destroying our way of life.
