A concern about TSMS bus stop

Posted in: Baywood Village
My family moved into this lovely neighborhood recently. And we would love to take pride in our neighborhood. Every morning I watch my daughter go to the bus stop for Tarpon Springs Middle school. On several accounts, I have witnessed a group of boys knocking over the basketball net. Once it even fell on my daughter. After that incident, I have watched the bus stop from my home. Being that I am so close to the club house, I am able to do such thing. What I have seen disturbs me very much. I have witness the same group of boys getting sticks and once a metal pipe. Apparently, they thought it would be fun to try to knock down a wasps nest. I did confront the boys, asking them why they were hitting the A/C unit? They did show me the nest. In fact, there was a nest, with several angry wasps. I asked the boys to please stop bothering the nest. And let an adult handle the nest. These are just a couple of incidents that I have noticed. On the morning of the wasp nest incident, I did stay until the bus came. The boys were not happy about it. During that time, they starting using some foul language, and started talking about drugs. I know that this is most likely the stage that these boy are in. However, I don?’t look at it as an excuse to vandalize the club house. That is there for our use. Banging the sides of the building, littering and I have also noticed that the basket ball net was indeed damaged and was thrown out. I would like to see something happen. Just to show these boys we as adults do not accept this conduct and we are proud of our neighborhood.

Thank you for your time.
bus stop nonsense

the boys are in fact behaving in an age typical manner. That does not, however make the behaviour acceptable. Regarding the cursing and drug talk, ignore it, they want you to react. They are showing off. However, the destruction of property is another matter. As they are waiting for the bus, this is a school concern. I would call and ask to speak with Mr. Black the eighth grade administrator. It has been mentioned at another stop that the ring leader of this group is in fact an eighth grader who bullies other boys. The boys need to know that their behavior is not without consequence.
