Another Horribly Bad Idea --

is the antirental amendment. Imagine -- the board has absolute authority to impose fines for rules violations on tenants, but that's not enough power. Apparently proponents of this amendment would have you believe there are all manner of covenants violations by tenants in Pembrooke. Our house has been rented out for 2 1/2 years and the board has issued no citations or warnings related to our tenants. nor the neighbors on either side, both of which are tenant occupied.

Next to keeping you from flying a flag, I can think of anything more contrary to freedom than preventing an owner from using his property in a way that he sees fit provided he doesn't cause injury to his neighbors. I challenge the proponent of this amendment to show HARD EVIDENCE BACKED UP BY FACTS, not just rhetoric, where tenants caused significant damage to neighbors that a) couldnt be stopped by an HOA fine, and b) was different in type from what rsident owners have done. If the Board can't enforce the covenants when tenants violate them, why should we trust the board to manage rental properties?
