Well, as many of you have heard Chris and I had more than a small leak in our roof this past Saturday from the torrential downpour (water was actually pouring in through the light fixture in our daughter's room!). Although our roof is only 9 years old, it was not what you would call a quality installation.

Which brings me to my next point. We plan to have the west dormer repaired to get us through the rainy season, and then......know any good roofers? (Who are not bothered by a VERY steep slope?)

You are smart to ask around about roofers before selecting one. I did that, too, as well as checking w/the Better Business Bureau, etc. I still ended up having a very bad experience. From what I went through, I would definitely say do NOT use Flamingo Roofing II. As far as roofers whom other neighbors have used and highly recommend, two names I heard a lot were ''A Old Tyme Roofing'', whom I have heard are very good and careful about replacing any bad decking and doing the job right (I wish I'd gone with them--they gave me a very reasonable estimate, too!!!), and I've also heard that ''Albright Roofing'' is good. Good luck. When it comes to roofing, even the best research and planning can't gaurantee that you won't make a mistake--there is so much shoddy workmanship being done out there. But, just do the research as you are and hopefully, you will make the right choice. One other note: Be sure that, at the end of the roofing process, you see a SIGNED inspection notice on displayed on your home within a few days after the job is complete. If not, call the city (not the roofers) to confirm that an inspection was done. Good luck!!

Janel, I don't usually recommend anyone but in this case I HIGHLY recommend a roofer named Rich Jackson Ph# 864-6610. Licensed, bonded, and does great work for a great price. He has even done work for me at home and at Westminster Shores. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ALL KENWOOD RESIDENTS!!
