Leashes everywhere

I noticed 3 big dogs with no leashes running all over the park last saturday.

When I walk Bart he is on a leash. I never, never let him outside my house to run freely. Last Saturday was a little different. When I arrived at the park I saw another volunteer who had brought his dog with him. The dog was well behaved and off leash. I asked him if his dog was friendly with people and other animals and he said yes. I then went home and got my dog so that he could get out of the house and play for a while. Since we were all volunteering that morning and the park was full of people and children who know Bart, I thought this was an exception that was acceptable.He has never before run free in the park and will not again.(unless we have a similar situation)

I am still very much against dogs who are allowed to run off leash. I have been chased,cornered,growled at and other wise scaired to death by dogs who roam the neighborhood off leash. I do not appreciate dog owners who allow this and find that behavior irresponsible, but I do not classify myself in that catagory

I knew that our thinking alike would not last long......(big grin)
