Well lets start a discussion on the HK website. I would like to see a free and flowing discussion site where people can say what is bothering them without fear of being erased. Perhaps 30 days is to short a time for subjects to be removed. Is this the current policy? Many discussions on the site now have not had a hit in much more than 30 days. Also while some people object to rambling others may be interested in what that person has to say so a limit of 600 words may be to short I don't know.
It just bothers me that the site was very active for a long time and now it seems as if people are afraid to post because they feel if it is deemed inappropriate that the powers-that-be will erase the posting. I don't know why it stopped for sure but if we don't use the site we may as well just close it down.
Lets talk about it what do you say???

coincidence?
It does seem that the slow down happened when the new rules went in to effect. As for the 600 word limit, Just respond to yourself with another 600 words. As for 30 day limit, I say leave the postings for new people to read to get a sense of history or to already answer a new(to them) concern. I also say people should be able to share all concerns here.

opinions and the HKNA site
Hi,
First of all let me say that I am glad to see activity on the site again.
My only concern with posting any and all subject matter is how it could appear to people outside our neighborhood. I am referring specifically to Northshore's site. These are intelligent people with high powered jobs and highly respected in their field. You turn them loose with a computer and no censorship and look what they turn into... If you were looking for an older neighborhood to live in, would you honestly choose theirs? I don't think so.
That is what this site is. Although it is here for all of us to use and discuss issues, it is also for others to visit and get a feel for who we are and maybe decide if they want to live here.
I don't want an artificial gooey sweet site that doesn't discuss anything of value, but I don't want us slamming each other either. JMHO , Kathy

Not slamming
I wasn't refering to ''slamming'' each other on the site. I too feel that this would be inappropriate use of our resource. Constructive dialog between concerned individuals is what I would hope for, no matter what the subject. Maybe its asking to much but I don't think so.
Whether its stray dogs and cats or the name of bungalow fest or Absentee landlords whatever the topic, just don't tell me I can't ''voice'' my opinion if its different than yours or if you think its a subject that is ''stupid''.
All I would like to see is a free and open forum. If we must set limits then lets discuss what those limits should be and perhaps not at the neighborhood meetings but here on the site as not all of us has the time to make the meetings but those of us who care do take time to check the site. LETS TALK ABOUT IT!!!!
