We all work for a paycheck
I agree that clubs are not for all in the neighborhood but the same holds true for people in this neighborhood that are working to make a profit (contractors). I'm not a contractor but I really don't see why they should be labeled as ''leeches''. If a contractor bought the house next to me, restored it, sold it to a family at a profit and moved the renters out, well, I think I would kiss the ground they walked on. In my eyes, they've made a positive contribution to this neighborhood because the quality of living has improved for all! Just as club members shouldn't be put down, neither should people in here who make a profit on their work be labeled as ''leeches'', ''materialistic'' or ''letting the almighty dollar rule their world''. Afterall, we all go off each day to work and I'm sure that we wouldn't be doing this without a pay check at the end of the week. I think we all get our pockets lined in one way or the other. If we are going to try to respect the feelings and activities of others in this neighborhood, let's make it a two way street. :) By Diane |
