Between Saturday night and Sunday afternoon two actual and one attempted burglaries took place at 600 1st St. N, 733 1st Street NE and 201 8th Ave. The perpetrator is a slender black male, lightskinned, close cropped hair. Outstanding characteristic is that he has very large bulging eyes. Another characteristic is that he wears a pair of dirty senakers with the back crushed down. Today, he had on a light shirt --looks yellow in the picture and cutoffs. He has been seen all day in various areas of 8th Ave N and NE, 7th Ave. N and NE. He frequents the Mini-mart on 5th ave and 1st Street. He has been knocking on doors today asking for money. At two houses, he has been back two times in 24 hours. At 600 1st St. and 733 1st St. NE, he has broken into the house and, in one case, stolen a jewlery box and money from the bedroom where the husband and wife were sleeping; in another, he has stolen a black purse and jewelry. At 733 1st St. NE, he came back twice; once on Saturday, last night, and, it is believed, tried a third time today at about 10:30, when he was seen walking around the house and was confronted by the owner. He then asked for money. One coincidence is that in all three instances, he had a plastic bottle of Minute Maid Orange Soda. In one house, he left the bottle and prints were lifted. Once individual got a picture, but it is not very clear. IF YOU SEE THIS INDIVIDUAL, CALL THE POLICE IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO APPREHEND HIM, AS POLICE BELIEVE HE IS DANGEROUS. He has been known to do yardwork in the area, and worked at Checkers several years ago. I am personally offering a $1000 reward for his arrest and/or return of my purse. I have lost my most valuable possession, a computer disk with a book I have been working on for 20 years. I do not have a copy. Please pass this information along to anyone you think might be able to help.
