pattg - well put
pattg -
well put.
i believe people are failing to see the loss they have incurred. i hear many who believe steve has driven people from participating - i, however, believe that few people want to dedicate themselves and their time to community projects.
best wishes

Obviously you were not at the membership meeting Monday night or I believe you would have a different opinion on what you wrote earlier. No one has ever taken anything away from Steve as to his devotion to the neighborhood in the past 12 years. He has done very much for NSNA but all of that has been put behind him after the display of rudeness we observed in front of over 40 people the night of the meeting and also his actions that have occured in the last few months.
Now,if you were at the meeting, then I cannot understand how anyone could accept his behavior unless you are the type person that accepts rudeness and bullying by others. He was a leader of the association and acted as a tyrant. I have based my decision over that meeting. Yes, people do mistakes and make poor judgements, and as I understand, at a previous board meeting, Steve admitted to he had made poor judgements and apologized. Then he walked right out the door and continued to make poor judgements. How many mistakes is he allowed? Well, I'm a person that has been taught values and respect for others when they deserve it, and Steve lost all of that from me at the meeting with his behavior.
I have to ask myself, if you WERE at the meeting, would you have allowed him to verbally abuse YOU as he did others?
What if you were a homeowner on the 3rd st. to 4th st. corridor and your president said you had made a mistake by purchasing there. You should have known better. Ask yourself that, then I would love to hear your comments.

Obviously you weren't at the membership meeting either. Read my other response to patty and maybe you will change your mind. If you don't, then you are another person that likes to be bullied or bullies others and has no respect for people.

i wasn't at the meeting but i know something of the agenda and the political factions represented. consider them: 1) a board member who had secretly taped telephone conversations, 2) a few board members who were secretly meeting and attempting to control board actions, 3) a resigned board member who showed up with photo copies of his postcard about cvs, 4) accusations that he knew about and therefore should have revealed all he knew (and he belived to have been confidential) about cvs, 5) a previous board president had resigned over outragious telephone call from another board member.
this was not a pretty picture. i'm not justifying his actions, but debby, have you've ever been in this kind of volunteer-political fire?
