NDR outdated- grade F

Must Use Examples

Dear DAR,

Your point is well taken. Better if we could do this without specific examples. My words may have been TOO, to the point.

The bottom line is, that particular home would be fine in many other neighborhoods.

Just not Old North East.

I want to make a point that this is not my interpritation. This home does not fit any of the Architectual Styles listed in the NDR guide lines. It also is off base on several other NDR issues.

I don't think that this means the house is in poor taist. It means that it was allowed to be built in the wrong location. Which I think is a form of poor taist. I know that is harsh but it is the truth.

NDR prohibits most (if not all) of the homes that are beeing built in Placido Bayou and Caya Costa from being built in our neighborhood.

I do not think all of these homes are unattractive.

The average homes in Caya Costa & Placido Bayou is substanitally more valuable than the average homes in Old North East.

Our neighborhood NDR (is suposed to)specifically eliminates the ability to build what is considered contemporary.

If you do not inforce the NDR guide lines then the character of Old North East will be deminished with each and every home that is built like the one I originally refered to.

THank you for your response.

Not True, Not True

I have heard this type of concearn before. The reality is, that it has not happened in the last fifty years along 4th Street and zoning restrictions are more restrictive now than they have been in our City's history.

If you do not believe me you could go down to the zoning counter at the City and speak to them about placing a Doctors office or CPA office (pick something nonoffencive) at the corner of 22nd & 1st Street. That would be the most likely location for someone to try that sorta thing.

I imagine it will be a very short conversation and you will be happy with the outcome. No.

No you can't rezone that property for even the lightest of commercial activety and you can't get any other commercial zoning like you are cocearned about.

I would be very concerned too, if I thought the rezoning you are referring to could happen. But it can't, it has not and it will not.

I am glad you care.

"commercial"

Is the commercial- and maybe I am using the wrong term- only allowed between 9th down to 5th then (in North Shore)?
