And doesn't this real estate agent have ''interests'' in the neighborhood too?...hmmmm?
a call to the legal community

in the best interest of the integrity of future board activities, please can one of our many legal folks revise the by-laws to include language to the effect that neither board members, nor their families (including families of spouses and significant others) can financially benefit from etc., etc.

financially benefitting

In a kind of small city like St. Pete, this would never work. You are missing the point. It is disclosure of any benefit that matters. And also abstainng from votes on the board or advocating something without full disclosure. In the corporate world disclosure and abstentions are common. They are also common on City Council (remember Bill Foster excused himself from the
Council debate and vote on CVS because he owned property nearby.) and on City Boards, like Planning, EDC, etc.
ok

sounds good to me. legal scribes, get with it.
