At about 7 P.M. tonight, Jacques appeared with a police Sgt. with my purse, and the contents intact (sans cash). He had taken a picture that one of today's victims had taken and went door to door. One of our neighbors, Sally Lawson, recognized the perpetrator-he had done lawn work for her today. She told Jacques where he lived--in an Assisted Living Facility on 5th Ave. When Jacques confronted the man and checked out his room, Jacques found my purse and a wallet belonging to another of the victims. The perpetrator indicated that he had found my purse...didn't say where.
Thank you Jacques. We need to make sure we support our Community Police Officer and make some big changes in terms of procedures downtown. At our next meeting I will describe the protocols they (police) have to go through before even taking a picture and trying to identify the possible perpetrator. LOCK YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS AND LET YOUR NEIGHBOR KNOW IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE GONE...MAKE SURE YOU TURN THOSE SECURITY SYSTEMS ON! Hope none of you have a day like today!!
