Twelve years ago when a new large group of North Shore residents came together to reorganize and reinvigorate the association, one of the first things we did was start a newsletter. We felt that it had to be quality, had to be delivered regularly and that we had to be informative and accurate. The first editor was a woman, Chris Major, who is still a dear friend of mine. Chris and many of us volunteered with her each month to ensure that the newsletter went out on time and that it was a document worth mailing out. Since that time the job of editor has been passed on to Tim Baker and John Mitrovka. Both did superb, no, better yet, outstanding work. Month in and month out. John won an award. Tim should have won one, could have won one but the truth is Tim Baker never wanted any attention on himself. Every time I or others mentioned submitting for an award Tim talked us out of it. He was just happy to produce a quality newsletter.

So why do I write all of this? You guessed it I am going to tell you.

When John Mitrovka resigned from being the editor it was done clearly a month before the next general membership meeting. The board of directors, clearly controlled by the Stop CVS'ers should have immediately taken on the task of producing and distributing the newsletter without interruption. They should have written articles and published the news of the day. They did nothing until it was too late.

Someone recently wrote, ''where is the news?'' and they are correct. This is not about excuses but of committment. I can not remember not ever getting a newsletter, full of news, before the next general membership meeting in twelve years. The only good thing that can be said about this last newsletter is that we honored our obligation to our advertisers. But, I wonder how long they we remain advertisers if we continue to send out newsletters like this last one?

Having said all of the above is fine. It might even be informative to some. The real reason I am making this posting is this.

One of the most newsworthy events in North Shore's history has just transpired over the last ninety days and not a word is printed. That is amazing.

I won't go into detail here today, I'll save it for later.
