At the general membership meeting held last night several things are worth noting:
* Susan Rebillot was nominated to serve as the North Shore President for the year 2001. No other nominations were made. The election for this office only will be held at the November meeting.
* The nominating committee will be working during the next month to find eager and interested residents to run for board positions in January. A slate of candidates will be presented to the general membership at the November meeting.
* The plans for the Holiday Tour of Homes (Dec. 17) are going exceedingly well. A few more volunteers are needed to serve as house captains. (see calendar of events)
* The first historic preservation workshop will be held on Tuesday, November 14. This is a great way to learn about the styles of homes & the history of NS. (see calendar of events)
* The historic district committee is within a few weeks of completion of the application and has extended the boundaries of the district to include the structures on the north side of 5th Avenue North.
* A proposal was made to make the area between 5th & 9th Avenues and
Beach Drive and 1st Street a residential parking permit area was made. Residents of that area will be notified of further meetings for discussion before the proposal comes back to the general membership.
