The following letter, which I write here in its entirety, is from a friend and supporter of mine. A person, who belongs to another neighborhood association that I was fortunate enough to help this last year. The letter was sent on July 15 of this year while I was on vacation. Between work and other pressing North Shore issues, I have been unable, until now, to post it for your reading pleasure. I have other letters from other friends from across the city that I could post, but this one seems to say it all and say it best.

Dear Steve,
Since reading the article in last week's Neighborhood Times, I have literaly been in a state of shock. I was already partially there trying to understand why there was so much objection to CVS building a drug store on 4th Street.
Having had the opportunity to meet and work with you, it is beyond my comprehension that any organization could take such ridiculous action in view of what you have accomplished for the neighborhood association and the Old Northeast Area. Seldom do we find anyone who will give so freely of their time, energy, and capabilities with little reward except the personal satisfaction that you have enhanced your neighborhood as well as the City of St. Petersburg.
It will be interesting to follow the future of the North Shore Association after their unbelievable action toward a leader who gets things done in a never say never fashion. They obviously haven't considered what they've lost and we wish you would come and live in Patrician Point.
While I understand that you and Scott are great friends and that true friends along with doers in neighborhood associations are not easy to find, certainly, we in Patrician Point owe you a tremendous amount of gratitude for your efforts on our behalf.
I would like to personally thank you for the commitment that you have exhibitied by your ''never give up'' effort to assist us to some day, some way have a marker announcing to the world who we are.
Best wishes for every future success, and although we have passed the roadblock of the City saying ''it can't be done,'' there is still lots to be done and we might need you to help see us throught it. When that beautiful marker is finally comleted, there are many of us who will not forget the never ending efforts of Steve Lange in providing so much assistance to us in making it happen.
YOU HAVE MADE THE DIFFERENCE!!!!!!
