Vandalism

Posted in: Rusch Park Neighborhood Association Area 2
Is anyone else seeing an increase in vandalism in our area. We live on Antelope Road and we've had our fence vandalized more times then I can count, our neighbors also. One of the new trees that were planted was destroyed last week. We caught 2 young teens in the act recently and the police gave them a talking to but we decided not to press charges since they were so young. Last year we caught two twenty somthings and they were arrested. It is so senseless. We have pride in our young city but these people derive pleasure from destroying things for no reason. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Restitution??

The young people were arrested, but I would like to know what was the final outcome? Were they required to make restitution of some sort. I think the idea of people, young or old, being made to replace, correct, fix whatever mess they have made is more effective than a fine. Especially for those people who have means to pay a fine. Being required to perfrom the corrective action takes a LOT more effort. thanks - Maureen
None

No we told the police the amt of damage but nothing was awarded in court. Our dog did bite the one vandal's foot when he was kicking in the fence and he lost a rather expensive boot in the process so that made us feel a little better.

If we catch someone in the future we're going to push the restitution issue. I totally agree that it may help deter them from doing something like this in the future.

I live in another state and am considering moving to Citrus Heights but know very little about it. Can someone please tell me the name of the condo complex at 7437 Auburn Oaks Ct.? I had a relative who used to work there and I believe she was a bit frightened there. Is this a bad neighborhood?
