Money has been allocated to fund Stone Oak Park. It will be located across from Champions Horse Ranch on Stone Oak Parkway towards Hwy 281. The city is having a public hearing to discuss the design phase of this city park. They would love to have input from people in the area according to the desires and needs of the families of Stone Oak. They are meeting on October 22nd, 6:30pm at Bush Middle School. They did not know if the meeting will be in the library or the cafeteria. Someone should be there to direct you.
Panther Springs Park is the area allocated to the south of The Forest at Stone Oak. The money will be proposed in bond issue at the November elections. There are four or five propositions. One of them is to allocate more funds to the Parks & Recreation Department. I was told that the areas that have recurring flooding (that's us) could only be made into a bike path or nature trail. They will be asking for help from residents when they reach the design phase for this new park.
