   A. Kelly Mixon died May 8th after heart valve surgery.  He would have been 87 May 29th.  Kelly was born and raised in Jasper, Texas on what he called a "pine knot farm", became a paratrooper during the Korean War; luckily the war ended before he saw action.  He was a member of the Gulf Meadows Civic Club, the original Gulf Meadows Citizens' on Patrol, the Optimist International of Pasadena, the original Boys' Harbor in the League City area, the boys and girls Home in the Medina area, attended the Univeristy of Houston, a faithful Church of Christ member, and was always a willing aide to anyone in need.  He helped assemble and distribute our newsletter and assisted with our hospitality when needed.  Visitation was the evening of May 12th in Jasper, TX with a graveside service the following day at the Little Hope Cemetery, Jasper, TX.  A memorial service was held at the Clear Lake Church of Christ May 16th.  He will be greatly missed by many.
