Willie Wilson Does Not Speak for Blacks
Now Dr. Willie Wilson, don't be a bloviator! Don't act like you are the head Negro in charge. Don't act as though you have the key to Chicago's black community, because YOU DO NOT! You have not earned that title, thus far. What you've done in growing a respectable business, and the triumphant Singsation TV program, as well as competing admirably for the Mayor of Chicago; all great accomplishments, but you don't speak for black folks. So stop holding yourself.
And Rahm and Chuy, we know that Dr. Wilson received 11% of the vote, mostly black votes, but you guys both should be ashamed of yourself thinking that because Willie endorses you, that you have the 5th floor locked up. Especially you Emanuel - if you truly believe that, than you've learned nothing during this past election cycle.
For instance, Rahm, even if Dr. Wilson selects you to endorse, that will not change the fact that so, so many black people completely dislike you. If President Barack Obama could not convince black voters to anoint you, what the heck make you think that Mr. Wilson's prayer over you will help your cause? The only person who can help your efforts are mainly YOU. There are a few other things, but you don't wanna hear real hustlers tell you the truth. You only want people to conform to how you think black folks 'should' accept you. You'll learn the hard way homie.

And the same goes for Jesus: Having Willie's support is important for your continued momentum, but it will do nothing to help bring in additional black voters. You got what you got. Now you have to convince the undecided, or the people who chose not to vote in February to come out and vote. The people have spoken, and between Jesus and Rahm, sending Wilson flowers, signature Bibles, fried chicken and off-white suits will not bring you any closer to the much coveted black vote that has firmly stated their objective on February 24th. The main goal for you guys are to attract the non voters who looked at each of you men (5 candidates) last week and decided that none of you were worth their time. And sadly enough, this is what you might see in April. The very people who voted this time around will probably take a pass. Especially if they see this charade being played out in Willie's downtown apartment, which all the media is showing both mayoral contenders sneaking in and out like thieves in the night or day. This has caused Chicago's main media outlets to appoint Willie as the man standing in the middle between the mayoral office and the two hopefuls. How can local papers and TV stations decide that Dr. Wilson is now the so-called leader for the black community? This really proves how wrong mainstream media normally are - just like they were in thinking that Rahm would be planning his swearing in instead of fighting for his political life. As a hustler, I'm a big supporter of Wilson, in terms of his rise to success. I love his story. I think he should be one example of a role model for certain types of dreamers. But do I think that after his remarkable, yet unsuccessful mayoral effort, that he's now considered the go to guy; surpassing dozens of civil rights, business, political, community and spiritual leaders for black dictatorship? Negro PLEASE! Peace and One Love. |
