Subject: Are SD Taxpayers Paying for Madaffer's Travels?

Friends:
A friend from the Grantville Action Group e-mail list sent me this link:
http://www.cacities.org/index.jsp?displaytype=11
<http://www.cacities.org/index.jsp?displaytype=11&zone=locc§ion=&sub_sec
=&tert=&story=27672> &zone=locc§ion=&sub_sec=&tert=&story=27672. It is
from the League of California Cities website, and it reports on a conference
in Washington, D.C. attended by League officials. Among those pictured is
former-City Councilman Jim Madaffer.
This raises a few questions: Is Madaffer still the City of San Diego's
representative to the League of Cities? If so, is the City cutting a
paycheck to him for this? Who footed the bill for Madaffer's trip to D.C.?
Was it in any way San Diego taxpayers? If the answer to any of these
questions is yes, many will find it surprising, and most will find it
disturbing.
Please let me know what you can find out. Thank you.
