With the resent mailbox thefts, is anyone for or against the community mailboxes? Please respond...

  Well we've never had to use this type mailbox before.  I assume there would be "several" sites where we would go to a locked box to pick up mail?  Sad to have to do that.  I enjoy visiting with our mail man.  I'm not sure I would be a fan of this.  For now, we will not put anything of value in our outgoing mail for sure.  We pay most bills on-line and, should we need to write a check, will just take to post office or "catch" the mailman on the way by.  But of course we are retired and around a lot when he shows up.  I'd like to hear from people who have used locked boxes before.

Loree and I have talked about buying one of the Oasis secure mailboxes to replace our brick mailbox.  We don't put outgoing mail in our box, but we do worry about our incoming mail.
