Fox Run HOA

COMMENTS TO WEBSITE/NEWSLETTERS

Posted in: Columbine West

I didn't see any replies to the note about having one neighborhood trash company instead of a different one every day.  I think about this every week as I see all the trash trucks rolling down the pavement and burning gas with repeated trips thru CW and elsewhere.

Makes sense to me - one company, one day a week - sounds good.

Hello Norm,

One suggestion I would have is to only do a couple of mailings a year if you want to have a printed version. You could do that by laying out the newsletter in Word and doing a copy /print job at Copy Max or some such place. In this way you control costs to a greater extent. Obviously, the other way would to go electronic only news letter as many volunteer organizations have already done. Let's face it News print / printed matter is dying a slow but sure death.

I have served on one of the largest HOA's in this area, Grant Ranch. I will have to say that was a frustrating, experience. I moved to the Westridge in part because of the Grant Ranch HOA. The biggest problem with that HOA, (and most other HOA's) was all 1501 owners were required to pay monthly fees. I will never own a home again which is located within an HOA covenant controlled area that includes mandatory fees. One of my requirements for even thinking about buying a home in the Westridge area was knowing the HOA if it existed had very little operating capital / Money. An HOA is nothing more than a miniature governmental entity. The collection of Tax / fee's is what empowers government.

Money / currency, is nothing but credit, credit we "trust-in-God" will allow us to have work done "for us", we either can't or don't want to do ourselves.

The biggest problem American's have is that "we" have let our government run-a-muck. Yes," we" have no person to blame but ourselves. We have allowed our government to "Print" / create money then we empowered those same people to take money away from us. By allowing such to happen we have placed power in the hands of few, and we all know what happens then. We lose control, others gain control over us. They do so by taking "money / work" from us, and in turn those same elitist ("we know what's best for you" mind set) politicians have been empowered with our faithful work.

I have suggested one way this board can keep publishing it's news letter. The other responses I have read to your question, also suggest how the newsletter & Westridge could possibly thrive. I suggest that the few Westridge volunteer board members," through in the garbage can any management company manuals" you may be using for guidance /reference.

You see HOA management companies are a big part of the problem. They have over the years set up a profile of how to "best" manage people within HOA's. Many builder's starting many years ago, signed on with the HOA profile. A builder / HOA profile was "created" because Lawyer's convinced builder's it was a layer of protection from the home owner's thus in their interest. I could write a book about how that works and doesn't work. Ok, I'm off my soap box for now...nuff said.
